Can you still sell after end of day? A Z report is not the sales report

Guide6 min readari adisyon Editorial
A till sales report beside a fiscal Z report

“I closed the day — can I still sell?” comes from treating two papers as one. The till’s end-of-day report is that business day’s sales summary. The Z report is the fiscal device’s own close. They are often taken at the same hour. They are not the same document.

Two reports

Difference between the sales close and the fiscal Z report

You compare them. One does not replace the other.

Compare cash in the drawer with the cash line, and card takings with the card line on the device’s Z. If they disagree, look at refunds and device errors first. The closing steps are in closing the day.

Selling after Z

ari adisyon does not lock the order screen because a Z was taken. A new order can be entered. The fiscal receipt is the device’s rule: many fiscal printers will not cut another receipt for the same business day after Z, and wait for the next day. If the device will not print, do not close the payment on the till “to print later”. When a fiscal device is on, card and cash are not finished without a fiscal receipt.

Z reports that arrive from the device are listed under Management → Fiscal device. ari adisyon does not cut a Z in the device’s place.

A backdated close, and a forgotten Z

A Z for a previous date is taken from the device’s own menu, under the maker’s rules. Not every device offers the same button. If yesterday was forgotten, use the device’s service menu or its authorised service. The software does not produce that receipt backwards.

If Z is never taken, the fiscal memory has not closed that day. The next morning many devices ask for the missing close before a new sale. That is the device’s rule, not a fine invented by the software. The till’s sales report still exists without a Z. Matching the two is your closing job.

Frequently asked questions

What is an end-of-day report?

It is that business day’s sales summary: turnover, tender type, voids. In the books the day’s sales land as one summary line. That line is not the Z slip from the device.

Is end of day the same as a Z report?

No. One is the till’s sales record. The other is the fiscal device’s close. You compare the amounts.

What does reconciliation mean?

It means checking counted cash against the system’s cash, and the device’s card total against the till’s card line. A difference is written the same day.

Conclusion

After Z the order screen stays open; the fiscal receipt follows the device’s clock. A forgotten Z is not recreated by the software. The habit is in the end-of-day guide.
